We were behind several pymts on our mortgage. We rec'd an offer from a buyer, and the next day we rec'd a letter from an attorney rep. our mortgage co., stating that we were entering f/c. We closed on the sale of our home within 3 weeks, before any further f/c procedures were done. Our CRs state: f/c started; one states paid f/c. Is this a f/c or not? We didn't think it was, only that it was initiated.
When we got our car last year, we got stuck with 14.9% Ouch..so, now that the BK's are done, I've been really thinking about refinancing.
I would hate for your score to get hit harder by this.

Has anyone ever gotten this message when disputing online?
I mean, it's one thing to owe taxes and know you owe them, and not pay them and then get stuck with the thing on your credit report.
Another experienced person said it should only show included in BK and zero balance, no previous history.
I guess it is safe to assume that they can't find anything since it has been 3 weeks since they received the letter.

I'm disputing the chargeoff as not mine because I never had an account with this company from 96-98 and they are showing a $900 charge off in 98, when I didn't even have a account.
The plaintiff-debtor first made quite an effort to resolve the problem prior to resorting to a lawsuit.
Maybe I am being pessimistic and giving them too much credit in the brains department - but I really need this debt gone in 3mths or less.....[/

If I can get them to settle wouldn't it be better than a charge off or leaving this on my report - maybe disputing it and getting it removed at a later date?
Try to pull your own credit or ask if you can pay for a credit report that a broker pulls so you can show more then one broker/lender.
Anyhoo...in reading some of the posts about the possibility of having your accounts deleted or closed for having inqs deleted, I checked my report...only 1 inq is from a card that I have...sounds pathetic, lol, so I only have to worry about that 1 account.
